Inspired by Henri Matisse, "Tallit" is a collage of hand-painted paper. The colorful, leaf-like show of seasons reflects a garden wedding. A man and woman, shaped from the same block of paper, is symbolic of the bride and groom beneath the huppah. Bands of color form the tallit which covers the huppah.
My designs are interpretations from the great masters of modern art. Drawings and watercolors combine with mixed media and alternative printmaking, forming the modern ketubah. My inspiration is a variety of artists and movements through out art history: masters of mixed media and painting like klimt, diebenkorn, johns, picasso, lichtenstein and carle, to traditional japanese and chinese watercolors and drawings, tonature.
