Hibiscus Ketubah

Hibiscus flowers, based on modern Chinese watercolors and ink washes, represent beauty and sweetness in nature. A quote from the Song of Songs, "He hath brought me to the banqueting-house and his banner over me is love" is hand-written in English edging the composition. My designs are interpretations from the great masters of modern art. Drawings and watercolors combine with mixed media and alternative printmaking, forming the modern ketubah. My inspiration is a variety of artists and movements through out art history: masters of mixed media and painting like klimt, diebenkorn, johns, picasso, lichtenstein and carle, to traditional japanese and chinese watercolors and drawings, tonature.
