19-20th Century North Africa Jewish Hamsa 0.8 x 1.8 inch Sterling Silver, decorated in a geometric pattern with the Hebrew word "Shaddai" (The Almighty) in the center. Hand-shaped amulets such as this are known among the Muslims as the "Hand of Fatima" who was the daughter of the prophet Mohamed. The Jews of Muslim countries adopted the use of Hamsas but usually added a simple Hebrew inscription. Product of The Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
