Apple and Honey Set for Rosh Hashana by Laura Cowan.
A note from the artist: Sculptural in appearance, the design features a spiral spoon that is hand rounded. No two are identical, just as no two days of the year are the same. The spiral spoon represents new beginnings and continuation. This design combines my signature themes of encircling discs with an innovative and practical spiral spoon that is attached by a magnet. After dipping the spoon in the honey it is placed back on the magnetic rod and any excess honey cleverly drips back into the Pyrex glass bowl. The spiral spoon echoes the shape of the shofar. One of the important observances of this holiday is hearing the sounding of the shofar in the synagogue. Like the recurring New Year, each loop of the spiral takes one to a higher and more evolved level at each turn. Created in my Tel Aviv studio in anodized aluminum, stainless steel, Pyrex glass and neodymium magnet. Each part is finished with great detail and with the highest quality materials used.
The plate is easy to clean, the metal parts by hand and the glass dish is dish washer proof. Available with Steel Spiral Spoon or a Red Spiral Spoon
