Anniversaries Judaica Gifts by Tamara Baskin

It is not for naught that the pact of marriage is considered holy, in Judaism and all of the world’s religions. What is more divine than the love between two people who join together, committing to care for each other for the rest of their lives. Let us not forget, of course, ensuring the survival of the human race through the mitzvah of “Pru Urvu” – as told in the story of creation: “And God blessed them; and God said unto them: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth…” (Genesis 1:28)
In honor of this sacred institution, the Middle Ages gave rise to the custom of giving themed gifts on each anniversary, and we are happy to be able to do our part in continuing this age old tradition, by offering uniquely Jewish items for each such occasion, such as: the “Ani Le Dodi” blessing – “I am my Beloved's and my Beloved is mine” - artfully inscribed and framed, for a paper anniversary (1 year); an “Ahava” (love) statue for a silver anniversary (25 years); or a piece of the finest gold (50 year) or diamond (60 year) jewelry for these momentous events.
