Torah Pointers

The Torah Pointer, or “YAD”, which is the Hebrew word for “hand” has a very important role. The Torah Pointer guides the reader of the text, while reading directly from the Sefer Torah in public, making sure they follow the intricate verse line by line, after taking the time to prepare for the reading. Another important job for the Torah Pointer is to keep us from touching the precious scroll unnecessarily. Our holy Torah, so carefully handled with its case, robes and closet, deserved to be touched only with the most gentle and fitting pointers. This beautiful collection of Torah Pointers contains something for everyone; whether you’re looking for a modern style pointer or a real antique, we have it right here for you. You can even choose to support the Israel Museum with your patronage.
